Engaged Learning Week

January 26, 27, 28, 29, 2016:  Engaged Learning Week

Engaged Learning Week includes five days of events that put student projects front and center at SMU.  It begins on a Monday in the late afternoon just when you need a cup of coffee. It ends Friday with a Big iDeas Business Plan Competition.

Tuesday, Jan 26:

Creative Projects, 9 am-2 pm, Forum, Hughes-Trigg Student Center

The symposium will feature graduating seniors who have nearly completed their Engaged Learning research projects.  Each student will have 5 minutes to present their work with time for Q & A from the audience. Feel free to drop in when you can to hear some amazing stories!

Wednesday, Jan 27:

Undergraduate Research and Service Projects, 9 am-2 pm, Forum, Hughes-Trigg Student Center

Friday, Jan 29:

Big iDeas Demo Day, Open House and Business Plan Competition, 12-5 pm, the Cube, Expressway Tower

  • Demo Day, 12 - 1:30 pm
    An annual Open House and project showcase Demo Day held at the Expressway Tower Lobby, where students will present their results from Big iDeas - Phase 1.
  • Business Plan Competition, 2- 5 pm
    An annual competition held at the CUBE where student teams will pitch their business plans to a panel of expert judges for a chance at big money.
