Candidates must be active members of a Wisconsin Baptist Church, pursuing their first professional degree and have an intent of entering ministry full time after graduation.  Candidates will be interviewed by telephone at the time of requesting an application, and will be asked to provide a Pastoral reference from their home church in Wisconsin (who will also be interviewed briefly by telephone.)

ETS Scholarship & Recogniation Programs, on behalf of Frost Bank, is pleased to announce the availability of funds for current and incoming students through the Irene S. Wischer Education Foundation Scholarship Program.

The scholarship was established in 2008 following the passing of Mrs. Irene S. Wischer, a highly respected San Antonio businesswoman & philanthropist.  In accordance with Mrs. Wischer's will, a charitable foundation was created, in part to provide funding to deserving individuals seeking higher education.  Frost Bank administers the program on Mrs. Wischer's behalf, and the day-to-day operations of the scholarship program are now managed by ETS Scholarship & Recognition Programs (SRP).

Female graduate students preparing for a human service or church-related vocation may apply.  Preference is given to students active in their school, church, or region.

American Baptist students attending non-ABC seminaries.  Must demonstrate financial need and be a member of an ABC congregation.

Scholarship for any Hispanic member of a church related to the American Baptist Church or to its recognized institutions, and who is presently serving, or will be serving, in a church vocation with the ABC or with its recognized institutions.  American Baptist Hispanic students pursuing an undergraduate or first professional degree in a seminary are eligible.

Scholarship for American Baptist students attending non-ABC seminaries.

Scholarship for Native American members of a church related to the American Baptist Church or to its recognized institutions, and who is presently serving, or will be serving, in a church vocation with the ABC or with its recognized institutions.  American Baptist Native American students enrolled full-time in college or seminary who are pursuing a career in human services are eligible for this scholarship.

To provide financial assistance to Baptist, Congregational, United Methodist, or Presbyterian college and seminary students from Iowa

Merit-based scholarship awarded to nominated candidates who can bring qualities of theological thinking and leadership that will strengthen American Baptist congregations and their witness in the world.
