March 16Pat Tillman Military Scholarship

The Tillman Military Scholars program supports our nation’s active and veteran servicemembers and their spouses by removing financial barriers to completing a degree program of choice. 

Who is eligible to apply to become a Tillman Military Scholar?

  • Veteran and active duty military servicemembers
    • Of both pre- and post-9/11 service
    • From all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, including service in the National Guard and Reserve
  • Spouses of active or veteran servicemembers
    • Including surviving spouses
  • Servicemember or spouse seeking assistance to pursue an undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate degree as a full-time student at a public or private, 4-year U.S.-based accredited institution
The scholarships cover not only direct study-related expenses such as tuition and fees, but also other needs, including housing and child care.

April 1Cannon Endowment Scholarship

The Cannon Endowment provides scholarship assistance to seminarians pursuing military chaplaincy. Seminarians within the following faith communities may apply: United Church of Christ (UCC); Christian Church Disciples of Christ (DOC); United Methodist, or Presbyterian, USA congregation

Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis.

April 15AMVETS Memorial Graduate Scholarship 

AMVETS members who are former or current members of the U.S. Armed Forces, and who have exhausted all governmental aid.

May 15Military Chaplain Association The MCA will award Chaplain Candidate Scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each. The number of awards is determined every year by our Scholarship Committee depending on available funds and the number of applications. The application period is from 15 May through 30 June.

July 1Chaplain Samuel Grover Powell Scholarship 

Must be a senior or middler at an accredited theological seminary and involved in the Chaplain Candidate (Seminarian) Program or serving in the reserves after having completed an active tour of military duty. 

Note:  Preference will be given to students in their senior year who plan to serve in the United States Air Force; however, persons preparing for service in any branch of the military will be given consideration.
