The Director of Music Ministries will be part of a ministerial team to plan worship experiences for the church and direct or supervise all areas of the music ministry program. The Director will be committed to integrating a variety of music and the arts into worship and will possess strong collaborative skills and enthusiasm for being part of a worship team. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, directing the adult Chanel Choir, Senior Adult Choir, children’s choirs, Wesley Bells and leading congregational music in worship. November 9, 2011 The Downers Grove UMC congregation is seeking a full time Youth Minister to develop and lead programs and ministry opportunities for Junior and Senior High students and College-age youth. Other responsibilities include recruiting and training of adult volunteers; acting as a liaison with our Youth Choir in planning and supporting choir tours; and implementing a yearly confirmation program. October 28, 2011 TEAMeffort is a non-profit, interdenominational, Christian youth mission organization dedicated to providing opportunities for both youth and adult leaders to reach out to others through Christian service and live out a passion for God, in the context of “putting our faith into action.” It is our goal to facilitate middle and high school youth groups on their summer mission trips. These youth groups are led by their youth leaders and chaperones. They have chosen to take a week out of their summer to come and serve in missions. Youth groups typically spend months fundraising, planning, and anticipating their mission trip. TEAMeffort is designed to be a mixture of hard work, spiritual growth, and good, clean, adventurous fun. It is our desire that at the end of each mission retreat the youth will return to their churches in more cohesive groups, sharing in memories that will last a lifetime and enjoying a renewed excitement about what Jesus Christ is doing in all of their lives.

October 19, 2011 The Tween Minister plans, organizes and facilitates programs and events for third, fourth and fifth grades students and parents. This includes but is not limited to: Sunday School, The Edge, Wonderful Wednesdays, Vacation Bible School, Nativity Pageant and The Edge Parenting Classes. The Tween Minister is responsible for the budget and recruiting volunteers for all events that are specific to third through fifth grade, especially the Edge and Sunday School. All of his/her work is done in collaboration with and under mentorship of the Children and Family Ministry Director.
In addition, the Tween Minister has these responsibilities:
- Assists with communications for ministry events.
- Assists Director with planning and implementing the Children and Family Ministry Committee, family fellowship events, the family mission trip and other ministry events.
- Collaborates with all SMAA and ESD staff on use of space for programs and events.
- Collaborates with all Ministry Staff for parish-wide events.
Requirements:
- 3 years related professional experience
- Advanced degree in education, youth ministry, Christian formation or related field
