Noel Memorial United Methodist Church (www.noelumc.org), an active church of 1200 located in Shreveport, Louisiana with approximately 325 members in worship, is seeking a Full-time Director of Youth Ministries.  The church has a growing youth ministry program that focuses on Sunday mornings, UMY on Sunday night, midweek band practice, mission opportunities and district and conference events. 

The Director of Youth Ministries will lead the youth ministry for youth in grades 6-12, drawing students into a journey of faith, preparing them for lifelong discipleship and inspiring them to carry the love of Christ into the community. The position offers a unique setting for unconventional practice by a helping professional in a program that serves primarily an elderly population with chronic conditions, including dementia. Candidate must have experience or aptitude for providing supportive and supervisory services for volunteers, comfortable supporting volunteer caregivers based in faith communities, history of lay ministry, or relevant work in a secular setting, such as social work, nursing, chaplaincy, or counseling.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about and looking for a place to serve, able to work flexible hours (day and evening), capable of motivating and encouraging volunteers, detail oriented, and comfortable with diverse faith groups.  The candidate must be bilingual Spanish and English.
