This annual event brings renowned leaders in evangelism to Perkins. The series is endowed by the late Evie Jo Wilson, formerly a member of St. Paul's UMC in Houston.

Polycarp Project

An in-depth program for students pursuing the Ph.D. in evangelism in international contexts, the project is a joint undertaking of the Center, Cliff College, the University of Manchester, and South Africa University.

The Church in Emerging Culture

Lectures and workshops focus on missional leadership in emerging and new monastic contexts.

SMU Community Garden

The Community Garden is a joint project of the Center for Missional Wisdom, Perkins School of Theology, and SMU's Office of Facilities Management and Sustainability. The garden provides SMU students an opportunity to learn to garden organically using sustainable irrigation methods in order to build community and provide locally grown food. Produce from the garden is shared by students, staff, faculty, and a local food bank.

Our theological foundation for the garden is found in Genesis 1:26-27, in which God gives to humanity the

privilege of caring for God's good earth and its creatures. We believe that community gardens are a powerful way to bring environmental, social, and spiritual healing to a suffering world. It is our hope that this garden will become a catalyst for students, faculty, and staff to develop community gardens elsewhere, especially among the poor.
