What Lay and Professional Certificates Are Offered?
Perkins School of Theology offers a variety of certificate programs for lay persons and church professionals seeking to deepen their Christian discipleship and enhance their vocational effectiveness. Certificate programs are designed to develop the skills and leadership of those who desire to serve the church particularly through the following specialized ministries:
• Christian Education, Children's Ministry and Older Adult Ministry (January 8-15, 2016 - Register today!)
• Church Music (next offering Summer 2017)
• Youth Ministry (next offering January 2017)
Why Enroll in a Certificate Program?
A certificate program affords the opportunity to grow professionally and spiritually, develop new skills, be encouraged and refreshed, and make long lasting connections with others who are active in similar ministries in the local congregation.
Who Can Enroll in Certificate Programs?
Persons affiliated with the United Methodist Church as well as other denominational and non-denominational churches are encouraged to enroll. Certificate programs offer those who serve in the church an opportunity to grow in competence and creativity and to enrich and enhance their ministry. Students earn a continuing education certificate for each course completed.
