Assignments

  1. Read ALL required material BEFORE class starts on January 7, 2012! Pay special attention to the narrative thread(s) and to the “Core Terms” in the Wesley Study Bible. You do NOT need to read the Gospel Parallels except as it helps your study of the Gospel narratives.
  2. Attend and Participate! [25 Points] 1 letter grade per day late will be deducted from each item turned in after the stated due date/time.
  3. ALL paperwork MUST include: Student Name, Class Title, & Date with Page Numbers on each page! Do NOT use a cover page.
  4. (Before Class Starts) [25 points] Prepare a reflexive Bible Study on a particular passage of Scripture of your choice for either Sr. High or Jr. High students (a 1 hour lesson, NOT a devotional) include what resources you used to prepare (Maximum 5 pages)
  5. (During Class each day) [10 points] A daily reflexion analyzing thoughts from the day’s lectures (Maximum 2 pages)
  6. (During Class to be turned in on Friday Jan. 13) [10 points] Building on your daily reflections write a paper on why the Bible is important as a final statement of beliefs you hold about the Bible utilizing as many Core Terms from the Wesley Study Bible as you can (Maximum 5 Pages total) and answering 4 questions about your learning in class:

                        1. What challenged me most?

                        2. What troubled me most?

                        3. What excited me most?

                        4. What bored me the most?

  1. Final Assignment [30 points] Prepare a reflexive Bible Study on a particular passage of Scripture of your choice (but different than the one you used in your pre-class assignment) and utilize as many tools as you learned in class.

• Certification Students and Youthworker Summit participants will combine for a three hour session on Sunday.

• Saturday Night: Experiential Activity (Walt Marcum) and/or movie with Youthworker Summit participants.
