Dr. Eugene Alford
In December of 2007 Dr. Eugene Alford, world renowned specialist in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, was injured by a falling tree while working at his farm outside Houston, and suffered a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed from the waist down. After 10 months in the hospital and grueling rehabilitation, Dr. Alford fought his way back to performing surgeries, and now operates from an electric wheelchair that allows him to stand and work freely.
Dr. Eugene Alford |
Dr. Alford worked hard to return to his work at Alford Plastic Surgery because of his passion for cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head and neck with a special emphasis and expertise in rhinoplasty. With 20 years of experience in reconstructive surgery, Dr. Alford understands the deeper anatomy of the face, enabling him to create a solid foundation of support for the changes in the surface of the skin. His goal is to improve, not alter, a person’s appearance. In addition to his cosmetic work, Dr. Alford has become a collaborative force in the development of the Rex exoskeleton, the world’s first hands-free, independently controlled robotic walking device.
He’s served on the editorial board of 10 national medical journals, been an invited guest professor at 14 different U.S. and International Medical Schools and appeared on The Oprah Show, Larry King Live, The Discovery Channel, and most of the local Houston Television Stations as an expert in facial plastic surgery.
