Father Miguel Ventura Visits Perkins School of Theology March 20-21
March 20 Lecture Co-Sponsored by Embrey Human Rights Center; March 21 Oscar Romero Memorial
Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University announces a visit from Father Miguel Ventura, the Governor of Morazán province in El Salvador and a Roman Catholic priest who worked with the late Archbishop Oscar Romero.

In addition to his present duties as Governor of Morazán province, Ventura has a long and distinguished record of concern for social justice in his native El Salvador, including more than a decade of service as director and president of the Segundo Montes Foundation, which promotes rural development for the poor in the north of Morazán. His duties as a priest have included Pastoral Accompaniment with civilians and combatants in regions of conflict, as well as facilitating Comunidades Eclesiales de Base (Basic Christian Communities). Additionally, for five years he was a professor at Universidad Campesina, El Castaño, San Miguel, El Salvador.The public is welcome to the March 20 lecture and March 21 worship service, and there is no charge to attend.
