CNM Connect (CNM) and Southern Methodist University Continuing and Professional Education (SMU CAPE) has announce today that priority applications are now open for the fall 2016 Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Program.

DALLAS (SMU) – CNM Connect (CNM) and Southern Methodist University Continuing and Professional Education (SMU CAPE) has announced that priority applications are now open for the fall 2016 Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Program.

This six-week program is held on Fridays from August 19 – September 30, 2016, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on SMU’s East Campus. Apply today to receive the discounted registration rate of $1,500 until June 30, 2016; thereafter the rate increases to $2,000.

The Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Program combines the industry expertise of CNM and the academic excellence of SMU. The program is designed specifically for nonprofit CEOs and executives with at least two years of nonprofit executive level experience. Attendees gain valuable tools and insight to further their leadership development and their organization’s profile in the community.

“The demand for effective nonprofit leaders is high and the most successful executives make leadership development a priority,” explained Beth Myers, CNM’s Vice President of Consulting and Education. “Attendees will chart their future leadership development plan and engage in cross-sector collaboration with other community stakeholders such as foundations, corporations and government agencies.”

Attendees will participate in a cohort model of learning led by instructors from both SMU and CNM. Sessions feature guest speakers and panelists comprised of experienced and successful business, nonprofit and board leaders. Each Friday, participants will focus on one key issue area impacting nonprofit leaders including understanding trust as an economic driver, building talent in yourself and your team, and organizational culture and change management.

“I was new in my role and I wanted to learn high-level management technique and theory as well as practical skills,” said Alyson Gregory Richter, Executive Director of Project Transformation. “The Nonprofit Leadership Certificate is intensive, but it’s a very thoughtful and organized course with exceptional breadth and depth. It was well worth the investment!”

“Connecting campus and community is central to our mission,” said Kimberly Rutigliano, Director of SMU CAPE. “We are proud to partner with CNM to provide nonprofit leaders with programs that help them further their careers as well as the vital work of their organizations.”

Interested parties are encouraged to apply early as space is limited for this program. For more information or to apply, contact CNM.
