DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU Mustangs football program and Head Coach Chad Morris announced Feb. 3 the signing of 25 student-athletes who will join the football team in 2016.

After bringing in 22 Texans last year, Coach Morris and his staff again focused on the Lone Star State, signing only student-athletes from Texas high schools. SMU is the only FBS school in Texas to sign only Texans in each of the last two seasons. The class is also high-touted, ranking second in the AAC and sixth among all non-Power 5 programs by Scout.com.

"We signed some difference-makers and some guys who can make an impact next season,” said Morris. “I’m also excited and proud that we were able to sign so many Texas kids. It's a great day to be a Mustang!"

On the Hilltop, the excitement around the 2016 football season is running high as year two of the Chad Morris era nears. SMU is offering fans a great deal on tickets. Season tickets are available now for as little as $99 for SMU's six-game home slate, with TCU, Houston, USF, Navy, Memphis and Liberty set to visit the Hilltop this year.
