Thursday evening update for Umphrey Lee Center and Virginia-Snider Commons

Workers on Thursday, August 27, are continuing sewer line repairs on campus. Virginia-Snider Commons and Lee Dining Hall at the Umphrey Lee Center remain closed.

SMU plans to update the campus community regarding the repairs by 6 a.m. Friday. Please watch your campus email and SMU social media for updates.

Alternative housing arrangements have been made for Virginia-Snider residents for Thursday night. Residents will continue to receive updates through campus email, and those with questions are asked to contact their RA or RCD.

The Umphrey Lee Center, which opened for classes and scheduled events Thursday morning, will have normal operating hours Friday.

Lee Dining Hall remains closed. However, other campus dining locations are open, including Arnold Commons. Mac’s Place will open at 7 a.m. Friday for breakfast.

As a thank-you to students for their patience, SMU Dining Services will serve a free barbecue picnic for students from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Flagpole, while supplies last.
