SMU leads trio of DFW schools ranked among state's best colleges
Three DFW universities landed in the top 10 rankings of the Best Colleges in Texas released by College Factual, led by Southern Methodist.

Three DFW universities landed in the top 10 rankings of the Best Colleges in Texas released by College Factual, led by Southern Methodist at No. 3
Texas Christian University in Fort Worth came in at No. 6 and the University of Dallas in Irving was No. 10.
Rice University in Houston was the top-ranked college, followed by Trinity University in San Antonio.
How did College Factual come up with its ranking?
The website compiled the average student SAT and ACT scores, average faculty compensation, student-to-faculty ratio, expenditures per student, percent of full-time faculty, freshman retention, student loan default rates, six-year graduation rates, and salary rates, among other factors.
