It's On UsStudents who serve as SMU Peer Health Educators will host an It’s On Us pledge-signing table in Moody’s main entry lobby from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Women’s basketball tips off at 2 p.m. Sunday against UTEP.

Students, faculty and staff who sign the It’s On Us pledge Sunday or who have previously signed the pledge will receive an It’s On Us T-shirt, while supplies last.

Pledge signers will be encouraged to wear their T-shirts on Tuesday, Nov. 18, to mark Take Back the Night, a university-wide event to raise awareness of sexual violence led by the SMU Women’s Interest Network. The event begins at 8 p.m. at the Hillcrest Foundation Amphitheatre at the Lyle School of Engineering.

The It’s On Us National Week of Action is Nov. 17-21 with events planned at universities across the country. The White House campaign’s pledge can be signed online at ItsOnUs.org. It asks participants to:

  • Recognize that non-consensual sex is sexual assault.
  • Identify situations in which sexual assault may occur.
  • Intervene in situations where consent has not or cannot be given.
  • Create an environment in which sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported.
