Three Texas universities have made a global list of schools that produced the most CEOs.

The Times Higher Education Alma Mater Index: Global Executives 2013 ranks 100 schools from around the world based on the number of Fortune Global 500 CEOs among their alumni. . .

Southern Methodist University in the Dallas area is the top Texas school on the list, ranking No. 22. It has awarded five degrees to four Fortune Global 500 CEOs. Those CEOs’ companies have combined revenue of $575.3 billion.

Southern Methodist also makes the Alma Mater Index Top 10 MBA Institutions sublist. It ranks No. 9 on that sublist, having awarded three MBAs to Fortune Global 500 CEOs — including London-based BP Plc’s (NYSE: BP) Bob Dudley.

The list ranking is determined first by the total number of degrees awarded to CEOs of 2013 Fortune Global 500 companies, then the total number of CEO alumni and then the total revenue of the alumni CEOs’ companies.
