Krys Boyd of KERA public radio's Think interviewed Eric Bing of SMU's Simmons School and Elizabeth Melendez of Methodist Dallas Medical Center on June 13, 2013, about the major concerns in childbirth as technology progresses and how parents can keep babies healthy after they go home from the hospital.

Bing is a professor of global health in the Applied Physiology and Wellness Department of SMU's Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development and in the Department of Anthropology of SMU's Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences. He also is a senior fellow and director of global health at the Bush Institute.

In addition, Bing Bing is the co-author of Pharmacy on a Bicycle about bringing health care around the world by using an entrepreneurial approach.

Melendez is interim director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program for Methodist Health Systems at Methodist Dallas Medical Center.
