Game::Business::Law 2012 To Be Held January 25-26, 2012 at SMU in Dallas

Dallas, TX – (July 26, 2011) – Game::Business::Law officials today announced that Ted Price, President and CEO of independent game developer Insomniac Games, Inc. will deliver the keynote address to kick off its annual conference, scheduled for January 25 – January 26, 2012.

Insomniac Games is probably best known as developer of the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Ratchet & Clank and Resistance video game franchises. The company, which has consistently been ranked among America's top 10 best places to work by the Great Places to Work Institute, has focused primarily on the console market. In his anticipated keynote, Price will discuss the strategy behind the soon-to-launch social games subsidiary, Insomniac Click. Insomniac is headquartered in Burbank, CA and has a second studio in Durham, NC.

In its fourth year, the Game::Business::Law Summit, hosted by The Guildhall at SMU, SMU's Dedman School of Law and The Center for American and International Law, brings top game industry business development leaders, developers, publishers, lawyers and members of the venture capital and financial industry from around the world to delve into trends and legal issues specific to the games industry.

On the second day of the conference, the Texas Entrepreneur Network will hold a two-hour games funding forum for up and coming developers. A panel of attorneys, video game business development officials, and venture capitalists will evaluate four organizations requests for funding to hopefully bring their projects to life.
