16 Exciting Photos from the SMU Meadows 2013 Fall Dance Concert
Two world premieres were featured in a “tour de force” of a night
The 2013 Fall Dance Concert, which ended its weeklong run on November 17, was a vibrant one. There was a range of styles and genres (think: ballet to jazz) and it opened with the world premiere of PICK-UP by Meadows alum Joshua Peugh. The second world premiere of the night went to “…ain’t confidential,” a solo work for a female dancer by John Selya. That one explored the lyrics of Bill Callahan’s Ride My Arrow. The show continued on with baroque Dark Elegies (1937) by Antony Tudor, which the Dallas Morning News called a “tour de force.” Rounding out the program was Cathy Young’s whimsical Zero Cool, which was a jazz work set to Duke Ellington.
Photographer Sharen Bradford was on hand to capture one of the performances, and comes back with this set of stunning photos.
