Take dance major Emily Bernet’s advice: make your biological health a priority. In a recent dispatch from her first year in the Meadows dance program in Dance Spirit magazine , she recounts a swollen leg and a drip of antibiotics. “While camping with some friends, I was bitten by a black widow spider,” Bernet says. “I’ve pushed myself to new extremes, but I learned how to rest, too.”

It’s just one of the many bits of advice from Bernet’s story, which you can read in full here (courtesy Dance Spirit magazine, of course). Take a look, and head on over to our breakdown of the Dance program to get more info.
