Meadows Students, Divisions Win Several National 2009-2010 Fellowships and Awards

Music, Journalism and CCPA Students and Divisions Among Those Honored Nationally

The following Meadows students excelled in their areas of study and received some of the nation's most prestigious fellowships and awards.  They include:

  • Leela Harpur, junior in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, selected by U.S. Department of State to serve as a 2010 summer intern in the Consular Section of the American Embassy in Rome. Read more
  • Rachel Duke, senior in Journalism, was chosen as one of 38 students for a 12-week summer internship with the National Journalism Center in Washington, D.C. Duke is assigned to The Washington Times. Read more
  • Liudmila Georgievskaya, Artist Certificate student in piano performance, won first prize in the 2009 Liszt-Garrison Festival and International Piano Competition. Read more
  • SMU's chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) won three Frederick H. Teahan Awards at the PRSSA National Conference. Read more
  • Students in the Division of Journalism received a 2009 Best of Show commendation from the Center for Innovation in College Media. Read more
