The SMU Institute for Young Pianists is an intensive, performance-based experience for pre-collegiate students. The Institute includes private lesson, master classes, and a variety of group experiences exploring keyboard skills, music theory and history, and ensemble. Advanced students study with SMU piano faculty including Carol Leone, Al Mouledous, Cathy Lysinger, Matthew Kline, Kevin Gunter, Liudmila Geogievskaya, David Karp, Sam Holland, and guest Alex McDonald. Faculty also includes many current and graduated faculty in the Piano Preparatory Department at SMU. Three levels of study: Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced. Audition required for all levels. Students ages 12 and older are strongly encouraged to stay overnight. Applications due May 1, 2013. More info.
Tuition:
Elementary & Intermediate: $425
Advanced: $500
Room and board (ages 12 and up): $350
