M.M. in Music History
The Master of Music in Music History and Literature program offers research and teaching experiences in preparation for Ph.D. work in musicology. These experiences include historical seminars, information retrieval procedures (including the most up-to-date Internet resources), historical notational studies, foreign language skills and critical writing. This degree may be combined with a M.M. in Performance to broaden college teaching opportunities. Download a sample Course of Study plan (PDF).
Students applying to the M.M. in Music History and Literature program at SMU Meadows School of the Arts must submit examples of their scholarly research and writing and interview with the music history faculty.
