Robert E. Krout
Professor and Director of Music Therapy
Robert first visited SMU's Music Therapy Program in 1979 while a graduate student at Columbia University. That visit made a lasting impression, and he was excited to return to SMU and the Meadows School of the Arts in 2004 to teach and direct the program. He continues to be enthusiastic about the future of music therapy in Dallas and nationwide, especially regarding the role that the SMU Meadows Music Therapy Program is playing by mentoring music therapy leaders for today and the future. The SMU Meadows Music Therapy Program, opened in 1975, has a rich history of both tradition and innovation in music therapy clinical training, education, and research.
