Meadows’ Division of Dance is one of the top programs in the U.S. offering both conservatory dance instruction and liberal arts education.

In addition to technique training, students are immersed in theoretical studies that include dance history, kinesiology, music theory/history and choreography.

Students perform masterworks of the great choreographers of the 20th century, including Balanchine, Graham, Humphrey, Limón and Sokolow, as well as works by contemporary masters such as Taylor, Parsons, Battle, Pilobolus and more.

Student choreography is a major component of the student experience, guided by expert faculty and opportunities to learn from visiting masters such as Bruce Wood (pictured).

DANC 1080: Ensemble Performance I
Rehearsal and public performance of existing repertory and/or original works. By audition. Departmental approval and administrative enrollment. Required.

DANC 2080: Ensemble Performance II
Rehearsal and public performance of existing repertory and/or original works. By audition. Required for the B.F.A. degree in dance performance. Prerequisites: DANC 1080, departmental approval and administrative enrollment.

DANC 3080: Ensemble Performance III
Rehearsal and public performance of existing repertory and/or original works. By audition. Required for the B.F.A. degree in dance performance. Prerequisites: DANC 2080, departmental approval and administrative enrollment.

DANC 4080: Ensemble Performance IV
Rehearsal and public performance of existing repertory and/or original works. By audition. Required for the B.F.A. degree in dance performance. Prerequisites: DANC 3080, departmental approval and administrative enrollment.

DANC 4081: Ensemble Performance V
Rehearsal and public performance of existing repertory and/or original works. By audition. Prerequisites: DANC 4080, departmental approval and administrative enrollment.

DANC 4083: Ensemble Performance VII
Rehearsal and public performance of existing repertory and/or original works. By audition. Prerequisites: DANC 4082, departmental approval and administrative enrollment.
