Dallas: A communicator's paradise.

Dallas has a lot more to offer than professional sports (Go Cowboys, Mavs and Stars!), world-class shopping (NorthPark, the Galleria, the Design District, and more), and restaurants for every taste (Tex-Mex, barbecue, Indian, European, and more). Dallas is also a top-five media market and home to numerous Fortune 500 companies. The Division of Corporate Communication and Public Affairs works closely with an advisory board of executives from companies including AT&T, Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Hotels.com, Southwest Airlines, and Mary Kay. Forbes magazine lists Dallas in the top ten of its “Best Places for Business and Careers.” A thriving corporate, nonprofit, and political landscape welcomes motivated CCPA majors.

Business and internship opportunities are booming in Dallas.

Corporate Communication and Public Affairs students can network with professionals from Dallas-area companies through SMU’s PRSSA chapter. Industry professionals come to campus and offer advice on how to forge a communications career. Internship opportunities in Dallas are plentiful for ambitious students interested in corporate, nonprofit, or governmental practice.
