Biography

Joy Richardson has responsibility for coordination of daily activities to keep things organized and running smoothly so students may enjoy learning and faculty may teach at their best. Ms. Richardson holds two paraprofessional certifications, Educational Aide and Educational Secretary, from the Texas Education Agency and earned the Certified Professional Secretary rating from the International Association of Administrative Professionals. She is also a musician, continuing personal studies in flute performance and teaching private lessons, loves her adopted canine, feline and feathered friends, and enjoys reading and quilting. Before coming to SMU in July 1999, she worked for twelve years at Methodist Hospitals of Dallas where she was an education manager and management education instructor.
