Portfolio Review Sessions for High School or Transfer Students: 2012-2013

Considering art as a college major or minor? Come spend the day with us! Receive valuable information about admissions, portfolio requirements, majors/minors, careers and facilities. Students from all high school grade levels are invited; junior and senior art students are encouraged to attend. Beginning college students looking to transfer to SMU are welcome as well! Our Portfolio Review is an excellent way to prepare to submit your work for admission and scholarships for the upcoming application deadlines in 2012-2013. We hope to see you there!

Portfolio Review Schedule:
10:00 a.m.: Event begins
10:20 a.m.: Installation of student work and portfolio review by faculty.
11:45 a.m.: Presentation of courses
12:10 p.m.: Tour of facilities
12:30 p.m.: Questions
1:00 p.m.: Close of session
Refreshments (coffee, water, snacks) will be available throughout.

Each session is limited to 15 students. Please bring your portfolio with you; digital pieces saved on a flash drive are welcome.

Bring your best work that shows a range of experiences in art, including:

At least five pieces from observation (drawings, paintings, mixed media or sculpture);
Work in at least three different media (including animation, photography and video); and
Self-directed pieces, work from assignments and sketch books.
