Andrew Kaufmann
Associate Director, Integrated Marketing and New Media
Andrew Kaufmann is a marketing professional specializing in digital strategy, content and architecture; online marketing systems and platforms; and web development. He is nearing 20 years of experience in digital media, first helping create and manage a website as a hobby in 1994. Since then, he has been involved in websites and digital media in a variety of both entrepreneurial and enterprise projects.
Before joining SMU in the spring of 2007, Andrew spent four years at Texas Instruments in the Worldwide Communication Services department. During this time, he also took on various freelance clients in traditional print media as a writer while simultaneously supporting web design and development activities in the real estate, retail management and legal industries.
Since joining SMU, Andrew has implemented a number of digital initiatives in the Meadows School while also serving as a leader on campus-wide digital communications projects. His projects have included developing the current Meadows website and implementing it within the Sitecore CMS; building a media sharing subsite and an events calendar in the Drupal CMS; implementing a dynamic video wall; concepting and executing consistent email marketing campaigns; and implementing a new ticket office backend.
Outside of work, Andrew is passionate about sports and spent two seasons with the Dallas Mavericks as a flag runner/t-shirt thrower. This means he had the once-in-a-lifetime experience of being on the court during the NBA Finals; but also means he had to watch the Miami Heat celebrate as champions on the Mavericks' turf. Luckily, all was set right with the universe in 2011. Andrew also enjoys playing the guitar and is an avid basketball and softball player. In fact, his softball team is currently the back-to-back Richardson City League champions.
