The Meadows School of the Arts, a comprehensive arts school, seeks a Ballet instructor at the rank of Lecturer in the Division of Dance at Southern Methodist University. Responsibilities include teaching three levels of ballet technique, men’s class and Pas de Deux, choreographing for mainstage productions and/or restaging masterworks, participating in department recruiting, advising undergraduate students, attending faculty meetings and supervising student projects. Candidates should have a significant national/international profile and a record of achievement with distinction as an artist and teacher. Terminal degree and/or equivalent professional performing experience required. Substantial record of creative achievement required. University level teaching experience desirable. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position begins August 1, 2013. Review of applications begins upon submission and will be accepted until position is filled.
