Undergraduate Admission

Allison is pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering, Math, and Dance. She is actively involved with Meadows Ambassadors for Prospective Students, Engineers without Borders, the Wesley Foundation, and she also teaches dance on the side.

As a liberal arts university, SMU gives you more than just Engineering. From English to Physics, we have a wide breadth of majors and minors you can pursue in addition to your engineering major. We even have a Medieval Studies major!

At the Lyle School of Engineering most students take the few extra classes to get either a math major or a physics major, and around SMU, minors are extremely popular. But that is not to say that you should limit yourself to the math and sciences, or even just two degrees.

As a long time dancer I chose to spend my extra time gaining a degree in dance performance in conjunction with my math and environmental engineering degree, which just proves to you just how flexible SMU and the Lyle School of Engineering are when it comes to your dreams and passions.

Many of my other friends have paired Engineering with a multitude of other fields here and a few have even pursued triple majors. The sky truly is the limit here at SMU.
