Catalog Description

Introduction to reliability engineering concepts, principles, techniques and methods required for design and development of affordable products and services that meet customer expectations. Topics include reliability concepts and definitions, figures-of-merit, mathematical models, design analysis and trade studies, reliability testing including types of tests, test planning and analysis of test results and statistical analysis of reliability data.

Goals

To provide current and future engineers with reliability engineering concepts, techniques and methods that they can apply to product and service design and development. To provide an interactive participative environment to facilitate reliability technology interchange. To promote immediate application of reliability techniques in the student’s work place and in other engineering courses through use of a class project.
