Rebekah Montgomery is an Electrical Engineering PhD student who also works as a Software Engineer at Raytheon IIS in Garland, Texas. She decided to pursue her degrees at SMU after learning about the Electrical Engineering program and the various specializations you can study within the field; as well as the very approachable and knowledgeable faculty. She always had a passion for math and science and SMU gave her the opportunity to study both areas where she specialized in Biomedical Engineering during her Undergraduate studies and Signal processing and Controls during her Masters. Currently, she is the TA for the "Introduction to Engineering Design" class where she gets to work hands on with students to build an autonomous robot that can navigate through a course and complete as set of tasks. Rebekah has been involved with IEEE SMU Branch where she has held the position of Vice President and Social Chair and is a member of HKN Honor Society. When she graduates with her PhD she feels SMU would have given her all the tools she needs to either work in a technical field in Industry or teach at a university.
