Krishna Kavi (MS 1977, PhD 1980) is currently a professor and the Chair of Computer Science and Engineering department at the University of North Texas. He was on the faculty of the University of Texas at Arlington for 15 years before moving north on Interstate 35. He also served as a Program Director at the National Science Foundation. Over the past 2 years, he led the formation of the Net-Centric Software Engineering consortium that includes SMU, UTA, UTD and UNT, along with several DFW area industrial concerns. He is still active with his research in Computer Systems Architecture, embedded systems and software engineering. He published more than 150 technical papers in these areas.
