CSE 40th Anniversary

To commemorate 40 years of success, a series of events occurred November 9 - 10, 2007. These events coincided with the annual Homecoming festivities of SMU.

Distinguished Alumni Symposium
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Dean of the School of Engineering of SMU hosted a symposium featuring a number of our distinguished alumni. They discussed the main milestones of computing in the last four decades and shared their outlook for the future. Photos from Symposium here. Distinguished guests included:

40th Anniversary Banquet
A 40th Anniversary Banquet was held in the Hughes-Trigg Ballroom. The banquet featured a presentation by our distingueshed guest, Dr. Bruce Shriver, entitled "Where to From Here?". The banquet also included a presentation of awards. View photos from the celebration here.

Tailgating Hosted by CSE Department
On Saturday, the School of Engineering and the CSE Department hosted a tailgate event which preceded SMU's Homecoming game pitting the SMU Mustangs against the Rice Owls.
