CSE at SMU is a research-oriented, student-centered department. The department promotes world-class research with absolute commitment to excellence in teaching. CSE Faculty Receives IEEE-USA Citation of Honor Award
Prof. Mitch Thornton received the 2009 IEEE-USA Citation of Honor award at the IEEE-USA annual meeting during the awards banquet in Nashville, Tenn.

CSE alumnus wins Sci-Tech "Oscar"

Michael Bunnell graduated from SMU Lyle in 1985 and now has a 2010 Sci-Tech “Oscar” for his work in the field of computer animation.

DEED Research Grant for CSE Student    

CSE graduate student John Howard has been awarded a student research grant from the DEED (Demonstration of Energy-Efficient Developments) program administered by American Public Power Association.
