    Our faculty are thought leaders in computer science and engineering education and research. With their extensive experience and interests, they offer a confluent balance of rigorous theory and practice of the discipline in the classrooms as well as in their research projects.     Department offers BS, MS and Ph.D programs in Computer Science and Computer Engineering.   Further, MS in Security Engineering, MS in Software Engineering and Doctor of Engineering in Software Engineering are designed especially for professionals.  BA in Computer Science and a Major in Creative Computing are offered jointly with the Meadow School of Arts at SMU.

  • — our publications —

    Our faculty publish their seminal research results in reputed journals including IEEE, ACM and SIAM journals and transactions.  They leverage various conference and workshop proceedings to expedite dissemination of current results.  They are also active participants in panels, discussions and interviews organized by television, radio, and web outlets.

    CSE department offers courses under ambitious curricula in computer science and computer engineering that are ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited Bachelor of Science degree.  Students can choose courses to satisfy various tracks in game development, research, cyber security, or networks.  At the graduate level, we offer courses that cover state-of-the-art in Data Sciences and Analytics, Cyber Security, Algorithm Engineering and Software Engineering.

    In addition to state-of-the-art labs associated with various courses, the department promotes creative synergy through well-equipped laboratories where students can innovate and collaborate.  CSE Innovation Gym, the HACNet Lab, IDA Lab, and the Creative Computing Lab are popular labs where both undergraduate and graduate students work together on high-end research projects as well as on hands-on design and development projects.

  • — advisory board —

    Our vision for education and research is greatly influenced and enhanced through sound counsel from our Industry Advisory Board (IAB) as well as our Academic Advisory Board (AAB).   IAB helps to keep our courses current by providing timely feedback on industry trends, whereas, the AAB keeps us up-to-date on curricular trends in other leading academic institutions.  Both IAB and AAB provide valuable mentorship to our students and faculty for career planning.
