Current Co-op Students

Congratulations on your Co-op job and welcome to the world of work. Employers typically view each hour of each workday as an opportunity to judge you and SMU. Judgment does NOT end when you are offered the Co-op job, in fact it really begins in earnest once you are offered the job.

You will benefit by keeping this in mind. It is to your advantage to receive an offer of permanent employment from your Co-op employer even if you do not want to work for them. This offer is seen by other employers as a stamp of approval that you are a desirable employee.

It is important that you maintain communication with the Hart Center during your Co-op term and other departments at the university. Please utilize this site to remind you of important dates and duties to ensure a smooth transition between the work and school.
