The Center for Laser Aided Manufacturing at SMU was created to develop a fundamental understanding of laser-aided intelligent manufacturing.

Cybersecurity research and education has long been a priority at SMU's Lyle School of Engineering.  Researchers in the High Assurance Computing and Networking (HACNet) Lab work on a broad range of cybersecurity topics.  In addition to conducting research, the HACNet Lab provides leadership in security education through existing programs in the CSE department and its training programs.

Our Center focuses on a collaborative approach of research and development in net-centric systems. This allows us to draw on the expertise of industry and academia.

RCAM supports a variety of R&D activities in the areas of rapid prototyping and manufacturing, laser materials processing, welding, abrasive waterjet materials processing, applied machine vision, micro machining, and manufacturing of laser diodes. RCAM is located in the J. Lindsey Embrey building.
