Edmond Richer Honored as 2013 Engineer of the Year by the ASME North Texas Section

Professor Edmond Richer was honored today at the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) Engineers Week Awards Luncheon as the 2013 Engineer of the Year by the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) North Texas Section.  Please join us in congratulating him on this prestigious award.

Dr. Richer Received his Ph.D. degree in Dynamic Systems and Control from the Lyle School of Engineering, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, in 1998 and the M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Craiova, Romania, in 1988.

He currently directs the Biomedical Instrumentation and Robotics Laboratory and is an associate professor at the Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX. His current research interests include advanced dynamics and control, cryogenic systems, image guided and haptic assisted robotic systems, active prosthetic and orthotic systems, and ultrasound applications in bone quality assessment and supra resolution imaging.

Dr. Richer is a current member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
