The J. Lindsay Embrey Engineering Building is the second new engineering facility constructed at SMU in the last four years. Made possible by the generous lead gift of Lindsay '45 and Bobbie Embrey, the building is home to the Departments of Environmental and Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. This spectacular 50,000-square-foot, environmentally-designed facility is dedicated to teaching and research and will allow the Lyle School of Engineering to continue the rapid rise to international prominence.
Taking the LEED
The dedication for the building was held on September 8, 2006. The Embrey Engineering Building is one of the very first academic buildings in this country to be designed and constructed to LEED Gold Standards (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). The Embrey Engineering Building is a living laboratory for our students and faculty as well as a showpiece for design and construction in our region.
Be Part of the Excitement
Be part of the excitement of the Lyle School of Engineering and this great project. Funds are still needed to complete the construction - so please consider making a gift to help us bring the very best engineering facilities to SMU for future generations of students.
