PLEASE CHECK BACK IN EARLY OCTOBER FOR UPDATED INFORMATION ABOUT J TERM 2014.

J Term Tuition and Payment Due Date

For J Term 2013, regular undergraduate students will pay a reduced tuition rate of only $1,100 per credit hour, the same rate offered during the SMU Summer School program in 2012. The total cost for one J Term course is $3,300 and no other fees will be assessed (with the exception of travel costs and special fees for the two travel courses). Parking is free on the SMU-in-Plano campus and no decal is required.

For other SMU students (certain graduate students, those enrolled in the evening bachelor’s degree program, etc.), J Term tuition will typically be calculated at the current rate being charged by the specific program in which they are enrolled.

Tuition is due no later than Wednesday, December 19, after which time a late fee of $150 will be assessed. If delinquent payment/late fees are not paid in full by Friday, January 4, students may be automatically withdrawn from the J Term program.

J Term Scholarships – NEW

A limited number of tuition assistance scholarships are available to full-time SMU undergraduate students attending an SMU J Term course. Assistance is limited and is awarded at the discretion of the SMU J Term Tuition Scholarship Committee. Applications will be accepted for awards as long as funds are still available.

The scholarship can only be applied towards the cost of tuition. The J Term Scholars Award can be combined with other J Term financial aid, not to exceed the cost of tuition. Those receiving staff/dependent benefits through SMU are not eligible for the J Term Scholars award. This scholarship is not applicable to the Meadows New York Colloquium.

Interested students must apply for the J Term Scholars Award by Wednesday, November 21, by submitting this form to the SMU Financial Aid Office (Blanton 119): 2012-2013 SMU J Term Scholars Award Application

Please be sure to submit all program application materials (J Term Application Form, J Term Scholars Award Application and J Term Financial Aid Application, if applicable).
