Rene' Archambault is manager of admissions and alumni relations for The Guildhall at Southern Methodist University. The Guildhall at SMU is the premier graduate video game education program in the US. Many of the school’s founders are industry icons, and classes are run by industry veterans. Since 2005, the program has graduated nearly 400 students and alumni are working at more than 140 video game studios around the world. The program which is the only graduate program in the U.S. to offer specializations in art creation, level design, production and software development, offers a Master’s degree in Interactive Technology and a graduate Professional Certificate.
A graduate of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, Rene' began her career at Publicis Bloom in Dallas, Texas and KRLD News Radio 1080 in Arlington, Texas. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Marketing, she joined the team of Gleason Calise Public Relations.
She began her time at The Guildhall at SMU in 2004 as a recruiter and was promoted to Manager of both Admissions and Alumni Affairs in 2007. In 2010, she was named to the board of directors for the Dallas branch of the International Game Developers Association and sits on the steering committee for the Dallas County Community College District’s Gaming and Simulation program. She has spoken about the importance of game development education at the Game Developers Conference, Penny Arcade Expo, VGExpo, Comic-Con San Diego, East Coast Game Conference, SIEGE and over 40 universities across the country.
