Engaged Learning Advisory Committee

Engaged Learning Advisory Committee (ELAC) provides advice and guidance in the development and implementation of Engaged Learning policies, services and programming, and the assessment of its overall educational impact.

MEMBERSHIP

ELAC is comprised of university leaders with deep ties to the community. The Provost appoints one member to act as chair to provide leadership and direction in collaboration with the director of Engaged Learning.

Engaged Learning Student Panel

Engaged Learning Student Panel provides Engaged Learning with a student voice in helping to steer the  initiative, advise on student involvement, and to develop and promote the Engaged Learning project.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership includes students from groups such as Alternative Breaks, Career Services, Chaplain’s Office, Daily Campus, Multi-cutlural Student Affairs, Greek Life, Human Rights, LEAD, Outdoor Adventures, Residence Life, Scholar’s Den, Service House, SMU-in-Taos, Student Senate, and Engaged Learning alumni.

SMU Community Partners Council

SMU Community Partners Council advises on external opportunities and student involvement. The members act as spokespersons for Engaged Learning, thus helping to promote the program and the university.
