SMU-in-Morocco is a five-week intensive language program that offers intermediate and advanced Arabic language classes conducted in an environment in which students will experience total immersion into the language, culture and history of Morocco. The host institution AALIM is located in Meknes, one of four ancient imperial cities in the Kingdom of Morocco. Students will earn six hours of academic credit.
The students will take two day trips - one to the ancient city of Fez and another one to the old Roman town of Volubilis. In addition, two overnight trips are organized - one to Tangiers and another one to the Sahara desert, where students will ride camels on the sand dunes, and they will sleep in an oasis under the open sky, or in tents.
