Internships are a great way to investigate careers and Dallas is an excellent place for students to find paid internships.
What are Academic Internships?
• Entry-level, professional experiences that are relevant to the student's major or minor may qualify as a paid or unpaid academic internship in Dedman College.
• Most academic internship courses are for three credit hours, some departments also have one or two credit hour internship courses.
• Eligible students may have the option to plan for and enroll in an internship course - earn elective credit toward their Dedman College major or minor.
• Students must show proof of 120 hours of internship work for a 3 credit course.
• Only 3 credits of internship coursework can count toward an SMU degree.
• Students are responsible for initiating internship course planning.
