The more you know about yourself and where you are, the easier it is to build a plan to take you where you want to go.

Use the action steps below to take inventory of supplies (your interests, talents, and background) and save your results in your academic planning folder.

  • Answer at least five of the "Knowing Me" questions below
  • Talk with 3 people whom you respect and know well
  • Discuss your thoughts/ideas about majors and careers
  • Ask them what they see as your strengths
  • Complete the MustangTrak Tutorial and other assessment tools at the Career Center
  • Discuss your findings with your academic advisor during your AARO appointment and during later appointments. Once you meet your career counselor discuss your portraait with her/him.

  • What makes different subjects interesting to me?
  • When have I most enjoyed learning?

  • Which of my talents do I want to develop n the next four years?
  • Which professionals do I most admire?
  • What kinds of internships and jobs sound interesting?
  • What 3 careers fit with my talents, interests, values, and personality?
