 Summer Day Tour

Discovering Sacred Traditions

9:30 am - 4:00 pm
Led by Professor Robert Hunt

To enjoy a slide show of this trip, which was experienced in July 2009 by a number of our GLS members, click here.

In recent decades there has been an influx of new immigrants from Eastern Europe, Asia and the Near East who have settled in the north Dallas area. Along with other aspects of their native cultures, these new residents have brought their religious practices. This has resulted in distinctive architectural styles that are new to North Texas. Back by popular demand, Dr. Robert Hunt, from SMU's Perkins School of Theology, leads us on an exploration of these religious traditions and their worship centers to uncover the relationship between architecture and spirituality.
