As SMU concludes the celebration of its centennial in 2015, the
University is seeking major gift commitments to support the $17 million
renovation of Fondren Library Center. The following naming opportunities
are remaining and an ideal way to support the renovation while honoring
a current or former student, influential faculty member or SMU legacy
family. Gifts may be paid over a period of up to five years.
|Collaborative Commons and Starbucks®
This expansive space is accessed directly from the main quad
and the Laura Bush Promenade. It provides areas for individual and
group study, interactive technology and informal gathering. The
Starbucks® will serve as a convenient and attractive amenity that will
draw students, faculty and staff from across the campus.
The Foyer will be a gracious and inspiring space that will
welcome thousands of library guests each year and serve as a venue for
special events. The Foyer provides primary access to the grand public
rooms on the main level and to research areas on the third floor.

Fondren Foundation Centennial Reading Room
In honor of SMU’s centennial celebration, the University has
commissioned custom-designed, handcrafted Moser tables and chairs to
reestablish Fondren Centennial Reading Room as one of the campus'
signature spaces. You can be a part of this final project of The Second
Century Celebration by
naming a furniture piece in the Fondren Foundation Centennial Reading Room.
A plaque mounted on each named table or chair will recognize the donor
or honor a current or former student, influential faculty member or SMU
