Center for Presidential History

Writing Fellows

The CPH supports scholars at its home institution of Southern Methodist University who are working on projects in the field of presidential history, broadly defined.  This Writing Fellowship provides an SMU scholar in the final stages of their project with a one-semester sabbatical from teaching.

The CPH Writing Fellow for the Spring of 2014 is Professor Thomas Knock, Associate Professor and Altshuler Distinguished Teaching Professor in the William P. Clements Department of History.  Professor Knock is completing a biography of Senator George McGovern, a former historian, the leading critic of America’s war in Vietnam, and the Democratic presidential nominee in 1972.
