How will I know the classroom location of a workshop?
All camps are located on the SMU-in-Plano campus.  Before the beginning of each workshop, you will receive an email with check-in and classroom location information, additional supplies (if necessary), and other details to hep your child(ren) prepare for camp.  Directional signs to our classrooms also are posted in the lobby of each building for easy reference.

What does SMU need before my child starts camp?
The Summer Youth office must have an Authorization and Liability form on file for every child.  We prefer that you submit the form by email in advance.  If other arrangements can't be made, you may bring the completed form on your first day of camp.  This form will provide our camp nurse with information related to your child’s health to provide safe, informed care should the need arise.

The form also includes space for you to share any other information concerning your child (e.g., special characteristics or learning style) that might help us provide him/her with the best possible experience in camp.

What should my child bring to camp?
We provide provides all materials and technology for most workshops. We will alert you in advance if any other supplies are needed for special projects.

Students should bring healthy snacks and a refillable water bottle, as SMU does not provide snacks. Please pack a brown bag lunch each day if your child is enrolled in Supervised Lunch.
Refrigeration or heating of lunches is not available.

Please send students to camp in good health and free from all contagious conditions. Students must stay home from camp if they are ill with these symptoms:

  • Fever: an individual with a temperature of 100* F or above. A child or adult must be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication to return to camp.
